Empowering Education: Rainbow Power Company Support Rainbow Ridge Steiner School To Go Off Grid
Introduction:
Located near Lillian Rock in Northern NSW, Rainbow Ridge School for Steiner Education has been a beacon of sustainable living since its establishment in 1996. Operating Off-Grid from its inception, the school has continually embraced innovative energy solutions to support its educational mission.
Thanks to a grant provided by the AISNSW, Rainbow Ridge has recently upgraded its energy infrastructure with a state-of-the-art solar power system designed by Rainbow Power Company and we couldn't be prouder to partner with them on this project. The double rainbow link is unmissable 🌈.
Rainbow Ridge Steiner School's Adavnced Off-Grid Solar System:
Building upon nearly three decades of off-grid experience, Rainbow Ridge School has implemented a cutting-edge solar power system designed to meet their needs. Custom designed by Rainbow Power company to suit their specific ugrade needs, the system now includes:
Powerful Solar Array: |
160 Trina Solar panels, each with a capacity of 440W, efficiently harnessing solar energy. |
High Performing Inverters: | Two SMA inverters—models STP25 and STP50—convert the generated DC power into AC power suitable for the school's operations. |
Battery Storage: |
The heart of the system features six 8.0H Sunny Island battery inverters connected via an MC Box 6, paired with 20 ZYC 5.1 kW Simpo Lithium batteries. This configuration ensures a reliable power supply, even during periods of low sunlight. |
Funding & Support:
This significant upgrade was made possible through the generous support of The Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW), which provided funding to enhance the school's sustainable energy infrastructure. AISNSW's commitment to promoting environmental responsibility within independent schools has been instrumental in bringing this project to life!
Impact on the School Community:
The implementation of this advanced solar power system not only reduces Rainbow Ridge School's carbon footprint but also serves as a living educational tool for its 130 primary school students.
By integrating renewable energy into daily operations, the school provides students with practical insights into sustainable practices, aligning with its vision of offering education in balance and harmony with the environment.
Rainbow Ridge School's ongoing dedication to sustainable energy solutions exemplifies its role as a leader in environmental stewardship within the educational sector.
The recent solar power system upgrade, supported by AISNSW, underscores the school's unwavering commitment to nurturing both its students and the planet. Such a great project to partner on.
