This could shed some light on the matter for those who are currently choosing a system or about to get one installed and wondering if they are certain of their 60ct feed in tariff with the new legislation on its way.
If changes to the legislation are put to the Parliament, the Government would propose that an ‘existing customer’ is one who has purchased (or entered into an agreement that could result in a financial loss if terminated) an eligible generator and applied to connect it to the grid before the date changes to the legislation are enacted.
Customers may be asked to provide proof of purchase.
Under existing legislation the Minister for Energy must table the outcomes of the review in Parliament. The report is expected to be tabled later in 2010.
