Campervan and Motor Home Rally

Campervan and Motor Home Rally

On Saturday the 17th of September 2005 Dave Christmas of Rainbow Power Company picked up a three ton Mitsubishi Canter covered truck from Thrifty Hire in Lismore.

On arrival back at the company premises in Nimbin, Terry Thomas, Hugh Murtagh and Dave loaded the truck with stock. The next day they all headed off for Maryborough, Queensland, leaving at 7.30am and arriving at 1.30pm. The rally was held at the show grounds on the Bruce highway and was attended by almost 70 trade exhibitors and well over fourteen hundred CMCA members housed in a wonderful variety of camper vans and motor homes.

As well as Terry, Hugh and Dave the RPC stall was staffed by Lance Hannaford and Craig Burnett with Andrew Nicholas the Kyocera sales manager from Brisbane also in attendance for the last three days of the rally. Andrew made the comment that having a couple of technicians on site was a very clever move. Wonder who will copy the idea next year?

Hugh and Craig were kept very busy checking out systems in a wide range of vehicles and fixing up any problems they found. They estimate that they checked out well over two dozen systems. Problems most often encountered, of course, were flat batteries, but they also fixed up problems with faulty inverters, chargers and regulators.

Needless to say, Rainbow Power Company had supplied none of these faulty items. The faulty units represented the lower end of the quality spectrum, with all having been imported. Any items that couldn't be fixed up on the spot, were brought back to Nimbin to be checked out in the electronic workshop and fixed where possible.

Well over forty owners expressed interest in coming down to Nimbin to have work done on their vehicles. In the three weeks following the rally, over ten owners have brought their vehicles down to RPC to have various problems sorted. Lot's more are expected over the next few months.

Rainbow Power Company is becoming known as one of the leading companies in the field of motor home installations and problem solving.

Look out for any mobile homes carrying the RPC logo. Ask them about their experience in Nimbin. Then come and have a look for yourself.

It's our service that makes the difference.
