Our Large Off-Grid Solar Systems are residential power systems, big enough to supply a modern Australian home with renewable energy.
Suitable for small families using modern appliances. You would still need to do your cooking with gas, but you can run your fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and pump simultaneously. If you have a pool pump or plan to run several air-conditioners you may still need a larger system.
A Large Off-Grid System comes with up to 20 x 370 watt solar panels, an expandable 48 volt lithium-ion battery bank with an (outdoor rated) enclosure, and the pictured wall-mountable control centre with MPPT regulator, inverter-charger, system monitor, breakers & fuses.
The below example solar systems are available as supply only kits, or can be fully installed by an off-grid accredited installer.

This system configuration powers lights, fridge, washing machine, pump, laptop, TV and other entertainment equipment. If you want to use many appliances simultaneously or need a lot of energy after dark, you may need a larger system.

Installation
Many of our customers install Large Off-Grid Systems themselves - all required steps are straight forward, and elaborate instructions are provided. There are only a few steps where a licensed electrician is needed to complete the installation.
The distribution board should be installed indoors (e.g. garage or dedicated room). Batteries must be close (~1.5m) to the board. The IP55 battery cabinet can be placed outside but should not sit in direct sunlight.
If you reside within ~ 4 hours of Nimbin, we can install the system for you. A 48V Large Systems will create STCs (when installed by an Off-Grid accredited installer). For example, the 21 Panel Kit would currently create $2890 worth of STCs. This will take a large chunk off the installation cost.
