Our Small Off-Grid Solar Systems are compact, pre-wired power systems. These systems can energise a lot of small gear, including an efficient fridge.
Suitable for low-consumption or infrequent electricity users. Ideal for remote sheds, beach huts, motor homes or weekenders. If you need power for a dwelling you intend to live in 24/7, you may need a larger system with a more powerful inverter.
A Small Off-Grid System comes with up to 4 x 370 watt solar panels, a 12 or 24 volt solar battery bank, and the pictured wall-mountable distribution board with MPPT regulator, DC breakers, fuses and battery monitor. The board offers enough extra space to accommodate a battery charger and a DC/AC battery inverter (up to 1000W @ 24V).
Small Off-Grid solar systems are available as flat-pack supply kits (you need a licensed electrician to complete the install) or can be installed by RPC.

Customisation
The above system configurations serve as example only. A Small Off-Grid Solar System can be customised to suit your needs; you can even do it yourself using our online design tools
.The tool lets you choose / add / remove:
- a solar frame to suit roof type / pitch
- a battery type
- a battery inverter
- a battery charger
- a customised battery box
If in doubt just provide as much detail as possible and we shall get back to you to discuss your options.
Installation
Many of our customers install Small Off-Grid Systems themselves - all required steps are straight forward, and elaborate instructions are provided. If your board includes a DC/AC inverter, a licensed electrician is needed to complete the installation.
The distribution board and batteries should be installed indoors (e.g. shed, garage, or dedicated room). Batteries must be close (~1m) to the board, but not directly underneath. We strongly recommend the addition of a battery box as exposed battery terminals deteriorate more quickly.
Detailed instruction manuals are provided. Should you ever get stuck during installation or thereafter, phone and/or email support is available at no extra cost.
Components
We only use components from reputable manufacturers with a proven track record and offices in Australia.
