Who is Sigenergy?
Sigenergy is one of the fastest-rising names in home energy storage, and its arrival caused a stir in the industry for a simple reason: rather than improving one component, it redesigned the whole system. The SigenStor is often described as a five-in-one, combining a hybrid inverter, battery storage, battery management, smart energy management and an optional EV DC charger in a single stacked unit. Everything is controlled through one app, with AI-driven energy management deciding when to store, use or export your solar.
That approach has made it one of the most talked-about products in Australian solar. We do not install products because they are talked about, though. One tower instead of three boxes
The heart of the system is its modularity. Battery modules simply stack on top of each other like building blocks, connected automatically as they lock together. Start with a single module and a hybrid inverter, and the tower stands neatly against a wall. Need more storage later, because a baby arrived, the pool went in or an EV joined the household? Additional modules stack straight on, no rewiring of the whole system, no second battery cabinet on the wall.
For a household, that solves one of the hardest questions in solar design: how big a battery should you buy today for the life you will be living in five years? With a modular system, you do not have to answer it perfectly on day one. You size for now and grow when reality changes.
It is also a tidy answer to a uniquely Northern Rivers problem: weather. With an IP66 rating, the SigenStor is built to shrug off dust and heavy rain, which gives us far more flexibility about where it can be installed on your property.
The EV charger hiding in the stack
The feature that turns heads is the optional EV charging module. Slot it into the stack and your battery tower becomes a DC fast charger, capable of charging an electric car several times faster than the AC wallboxes most homes use, and of doing it straight from your solar and stored energy.
Because it is DC, it also opens the door to vehicle-to-home: using your EV’s battery, which is often four or five times the size of a home battery, to power your house. That capability depends on your car supporting it and on local network rules, so we treat it as a future-ready bonus rather than a today feature. But if you are planning an EV in the next few years, buying the charger and the battery as one integrated system is a compelling piece of future-proofing.

Those stack numbers deserve a moment. At up to 48.36 kWh per stack and four stacks in parallel, this platform scales from a modest home system to serious commercial storage without changing product families. Very few residential systems can make that claim.
Where it fits, and where it does not
Sigenergy is a strong fit for grid-connected homes that want storage, backup for the essentials during an outage, and a clean upgrade path, especially households where an EV is on the horizon. It suits new builds and renovations beautifully, because one compact tower does the work of three separate installs.
It is not the answer to everything, and we will tell you when it is not. Fully off-grid properties are usually better served by our dedicated off-grid platforms, and a simple battery retrofit onto certain existing inverters can sometimes be done more economically another way. That is the benefit of a curated range: we match the platform to your site and usage, not the other way around.

Sigenergy FAQs
Can I start small and add battery modules later?
Yes, that is the system’s signature strength. Modules stack onto the existing tower, so capacity can grow from 5.38 kWh to 48.36 kWh per stack as your needs change, without replacing what you already own.
Will it keep the lights on in a blackout?
Yes, when configured with backup, the system can keep essential circuits running during an outage. We design the backup circuits around what matters to you: fridge, lights, communications, water pump. Given the weather this region sees, that is often the deciding factor.
Do I need the EV charging module from day one?
No. It is optional and can be part of the plan without being part of the first install. If an EV is likely in your future, we will design the system so the charging module can be added cleanly when the car arrives.
Does it qualify for the federal battery rebate?
Sigenergy systems we install can qualify for the federal battery discount when installed with a new or existing solar system, subject to the program’s rules at your install date. The discount steps down over time, so the earlier the install, the larger the benefit. We confirm the exact figure in your quote.
Who supports the system after installation?
Both of us. Sigenergy provides a 10-year manufacturer warranty, and every system we install is backed by our own Nimbin-based technical team for monitoring, service and future upgrades. We only install systems we are confident supporting for the long haul.
