Sigenergy Single Phase Inverter Update

Rainbow Power Company is aware of the recent industry-wide safety update issued by Sigenergy, covering certain single phase inverter models (8kW, 10kW and 12kW) used in solar installations across Australia.

Sigenergy has announced a replacement program for these models to address a technical issue with the AC plug. As a result, new installations involving these inverters are currently paused until updated stock becomes available. Sigenergy has also released a remote safety update to all internet-connected systems, which may temporarily reduce system output as a precaution.

For our existing customers with these inverters already installed, Rainbow Power Company will arrange a free replacement with the updated model as soon as it becomes available. The availability and allocation of the replacement equipment will be dictated to RPC by Sigenergy. Customers with systems not currently connected to the internet will be prioritised for replacement. All affected customers will also receive an additional two-year warranty on their replacement inverter at no cost.

We are contacting all affected customers directly and working closely with Sigenergy to minimise disruption and ensure the highest level of safety and service.

If you have questions about your system or an upcoming installation, please contact us on 02 6689 1430.

Rainbow Power Company remains committed to the safety, reliability, and ongoing support of all our customers.

AQ: Sigenergy Single Phase Inverter Replacement Program

What is happening with Sigenergy inverters?

Sigenergy has announced a nationwide replacement program for certain single phase inverter models (8kW, 10kW and 12kW) due to a technical issue with the AC plug. All affected inverters will be replaced at no cost to customers and will receive an additional two-year warranty.

Who is affected?

The program affects customers who already have a Sigenergy single phase 8kW, 10kW or 12kW inverter installed, as well as customers waiting for a system that includes one of these models.

What is Rainbow Power Company doing?

We are contacting all affected customers directly. For existing systems, we will arrange a free replacement as soon as new stock becomes available. The availability and allocation of the replacement equipment will be dictated to RPC by Sigenergy. For new installations, we are offering customers the option to wait for the updated Sigenergy models or to consider an alternative approved solution.

What is the firmware update and why does it matter?

Sigenergy has issued a remote firmware update to all internet-connected inverters. This update may temporarily reduce your system’s power output as a safety precaution. Systems that are not connected to the internet cannot receive the update and will be prioritised for physical replacement.

Will the replacement or inspection cost me anything?

No. The replacement program and warranty extension are at no cost to customers.

How will I know if my system is affected?

We will contact you directly if you are affected. If you have questions or are unsure what inverter your system uses, please call us on 02 6689 1430.

What if I am waiting for a new solar installation?

If your planned system included a Sigenergy single-phase 8, 10, or 12kW inverter, your installation timeline may be affected. We will contact you to discuss your options, including choosing an alternative approved inverter or waiting for new stock.

Is my system safe to use while I wait?

The firmware update for online systems is designed to reduce any risk while you wait for a replacement. If you notice any unusual behaviour, such as error messages, abnormal smells, or significant performance loss, please switch off your system and contact us immediately.

What should I do if I am worried about my system?

If you are concerned, please contact our support team on 02 6689 1430. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, such as error codes, unusual smells, or system faults, please shut down your inverter following the instructions on your system and call us for further advice.
